CLEAN UP OR STICK WITH THE DIRTY?

Today, this blog is to speak about the wonders of using natural soaps on one’s body. SAAAR-J Soaps by Rita(c) offers Natural Soaps. The experience of using these natural soaps have been wonderful on my skin and others who have used them. My skin is feeling very soft and smooth, because the ingredients added to the base soap are all natural. Our customer’s express their joy in using our soaps. There are some great new safe ingredients for our new soaps coming soon.  We work with Goat Milk and Shea Butter the most.

I had the experience of using store bought soaps for a long time and spent good money on them for the longest time. The store-bought soaps seem to melt away without even trying and made my skin feel a little dry. I wasn’t happy at all. Why couldn’t the soap makers provide a soap that would last a decent amount of time before it looked like something that was a little bit bigger than a quarter? Why is there so much ‘stuff’ in the commercial soaps that I couldn’t get pass, and why did the pretty soaps I really liked cost so much? They too, at times, seems to melt away quickly….so quickly. SAAAR-J Soaps(c) are made to enjoy and not concerned with them melting away after a few uses. They offer a lot of uses (depends on how the individual uses the soap on a personal level).

I love the softness of my skin and will not buy commercial soap ever again. I feel safe with SAAAR-J Soaps by Rita rather than store bought. Store bought soaps are nice, but I prefer to know what is safe for my skin. My skin is a huge organ, and it’s important to take care of it. I like the food that I eat, and I like the personal products used on my skin to feel safe on my skin. This is exactly why I started SAAAR-J Soaps. I decided to make my own soap that doesn’t have all the scary stuff that I can barely pronounce as I read the ingredients.

After all is said and done, I have been using SAAAR-J Soaps by Rita, and family, friends and others have used them also for awhile now. It makes me and those who have bought our soaps greatly experience a positively wonderful feel to our skin. The experience of others with these soaps have been awesome, as they communicate their experience to me. I can use them down to the smallest piece of soap (doubtful you would use it that small, but you might be happy to get your money’s worth). I love they don’t break apart, but will last to the point where I just have to start a new one.

ASK FOR HELP… Or Should You?

hummingbird005.jpg

Who would you ask to help you do something, or would you be reluctant?

Have you hesitated to ask someone for help for fear of rejection or embarrassment? Why do you think it’s hard for some people to ask? Would you ask for help when things become difficult, OR  would you push through it no matter what? Would you just pretend nothing was wrong? I, personally believe for some it’s pride that may jump in and cause a person to feel embarrassed. Maybe, it’s just hard to accept help, and easier to not ask. I, your writer have had this happen to me. I assume that if I ask someone to help me, they would probably say… “I can’t.., don’t have time, no, maybe later” (of course that may never come). So, there have been times that I had to do something that would have gone much better with two people, but now, because I didn’t ask for help, it’s only me.

What is an idea? It’s a thought or suggestion as to a possible course of action. Ideas will be maximized when more than one opinion, suggestion or thought is provided. Think back, how many ideas have you offered to others, only to have them look at you like you’re strange, or ignore what you’ve said and go on with the conversation? Worse yet, they flat-out tell you ‘it is’

Since I am an interior decorator, I see this often when it comes to decorating people’s home or small office. People want to elaborate on their ideas for their space. You sometimes listen (good thing) and other times, your mind is telling “no”, but you continue to smile. I may say “that’s a great idea” only if I really feel that way. If not, I don’t knock their idea off the table, but I may ask them to elaborate more, as I interject with something that would be pleasant and add to their idea. Maybe it’s something I’ve done before, or thought about using as an idea. Nevertheless, there is sometimes when people are adamant about using something that isn’t going to do anything for the room at all. I’ve done it, and I knew it wasn’t anything I would do for myself, but it’s not about me. My point is not to be superficial, but recognize that the idea may be a good one…for that person’s taste.

So when do you actually ask for help? What would it take? Would you ask someone at work (who you weren’t exactly friends with, or a stranger (if it were necessary) or then, a friend or relative? Or, is it just easier to do-it-yourself? There is absolutely nothing wrong with doing-it-yourself, but think of how you could expand on your ideas with someone else? This is what we do to help do-it-yourself(ers) to see the joy and excitement behind sharing ideas. I really get excited with them when I can offer them a way of getting what they propose. Money is often the cause of not getting what they want, or picking something that they won’t be able to live with for more than a week. Do you know anyone whose had an issue like this or just cannot stand the choices they’ve made while in their decorative and creative mode?

Knowing when to ask for help…is not always easy, but it is easier than you think. And, you should! Most people never mind helping someone else when it necessary or needed.  Asking is the key. Pride often steps in before you and cancels out your thought to ask or the words to speak….Help!!! Don’t let your pride or mind-reading skills (you just know that person will say “no” or look at you strangely for asking) . You never know, unless you ASK. And yes, you definitely should.

Is Your Creative Button Turned On? Be original!

Is your creative switch turned on? You ask, where is it? It’s there and all you have to do is get acquainted with it, if you haven’t already.

Here is an idea to get you started. As I contemplated writing this blog, I thought about my clients and would-be-clients. The thrilling part of my job is to see that they use their creative button often. Let’s get personal and talk about you. You have imagination that I would like to see you put to good use. Consider using it to explore a different way to use the wall space in your home.  Even if you’ve never done a project that causes change in your home, this is one that you can do. I wouldn’t necessarily expect that you would attempt to do other decorative projects or processes, if you didn’t feel comfortable, but this I believe you can do.  I’m suggesting this, because it’s fairly easy and fun. Since I’m always thinking about change, improvement and thinking outside the box, I feel this project will not be too costly, time consuming or labor intensive.

Sometimes my mind’s eye sees something that I know would work in a particular person’s home, and it doesn’t matter if it’s a single family home or apartment dwelling. It’s ALL ABOUT HOME. This is one of those projects. We strive when decorating to pull it together for a WOW factor no matter how big or small the space.

For this blog,  I’ve decided  to pick up on an idea I wrote about a couple of years ago. The idea, itself, is the same; the difference is the finished product being used. To get to this idea, I’m going to number each item for you. You don’t have to follow the numbers exactly, just the idea to make it your own.

1. Today, I’m interested in making changes to wall space.  The walls cannot be forgotten when decorating a room. It sometimes sets the whole room off in a fabulolus direction, other times it ties in with other furnishings, etc. in the room

2. Maybe, you want to leave the furniture as is or change it around a bit. My focus today, is the wall space.

3. Think art for the wall, and what you may want to see on your wall. Is it something with lots of colors, or a particular object infused into the drawing, etc.? It could be many things. After all, art is in the eye of the beholder. It could be a photograph or……  something you hadn’t thought about hanging on your wall. This idea may be used in any room you decide on. It won’t break the bank, and is really easy, not very time consuming at all. Are you ready? Roll up your sleeves, get ready and pick a room to start with.

4. My idea to save you money is the use of fabric. Yes, fabric.  Think about all the great looking fabric you’ve seen on furniture, in bedding, etc. It could have been on a wall, and you just didn’t know it.  Find a piece of fabric that is beautiful, exhibits life with it colors, joy, happiness, shapes, designs within the fabric, and it gives you a spirit of fun.  It could be one color or an assortment of colors, or a design etched into the fabric. This artwork will be a spotlight in your room and something to talk about.  Make it eye-popping.

5. What’s your favorite color(s)? What else is in the room, and what about your furniture? Will it all work together? You have to use your imagination. Go through some of your things and see the colors that you tend to gravitate to. Check your furniture and the colors that are in it or around it (ie. rug on floor, etc.) Pick a dominate color and use that to coordinate with other colors in your room or if you already are using muted tones, then you may want to use a pattern that is bright, cheery and makes you feel good. Check out what colors you often pick for clothing, what colors is your wall painted now (if at all) and anything else that will help you make a decision about how this fabric should look.  Many people are afraid of using color for fear it will not turn out right. This is why buying a piece of fabric that has colors in it, or subtle colors, will be your personal, created piece of art. Something that you, yourself pulled together and placed on the wall.

6. Color is so complimentary. Select the colors in your room, make a statement and love your decision (and other’s will too). Before you start, pick a room and then a wall where you will place your new creation.  Once the decision is made, you will apply tape (i.e. masking tape or painters tape) that is easily removed and won’t leave a  residue of glue behind. Be sure to check with the store and read the instructions on the tape, so as not to mess up your walls.  The tape is to be used as a guideline on the wall to show how big or small you want the actual frame should be. Sizing will give you a general idea of how the frame should be for the space it will occupy.  Important: take into consideration the size of your room and furniture.  Once this step is accomplished, step back and get a good impression of whether it will work for that area where you want to place it.  No matter what… it will be original. It is your creative skills that has produced this masterpiece with your name on it.  No one will have exactly what you have (unless they just love your work and choice of colors). After all, this will be a compliment to you.

Fabric has the best patterns, colors, lines, etc. There is so much to pick from. There is something for everyone. Be creative and have fun. Do not be afraid of using colors. As you purchase your fabric, have it mounted so that it is pulled tight over the frame. You can hang it like that, although a bigger frame may go over the whole thing and provide a definitive and complete look to the project.  There, you have original art (you picked the pattern, did all the work, etc.) It’s now your focal point in the room. Enjoy!

I wish you well and would love to hear from you. If you have questions or comments, please let me hear that also. Send photos of the before and after.  I’m sure other’s may be encouraged to try their hand at being An Original Artist and turning their creative button on. Be original.

What Would Your Home Say To You……If It Could Talk?

WHAT WOULD YOUR HOME SAY TO YOU……IF IT COULD TALK?

When I thought of this question, I knew it was something to share. What would your home say to you…..if it could talk?

It’s talking to you right now, and you’re not listening. We all know houses don’t talk, but they sure give off lots of hints. Maybe, they’re hints we give ourselves.

I’m taking some liberties here and using my imagination to address this issue. I believe it’s a fun question that may involve some straight answers. What would you say if you had to answer this question aloud? Fortunately, you will not have to do that. All you’ll have to do is think about it seriously to know how to alleviate any decorating and organizing issues facing you in your home.

Here are some of the things I think anyone’s home might say to them…..if it could talk.

  • I have been feeling pretty neglected for awhile now.
  • I hear you say some not so nice things about the way I look.
  • I’ve noticed you’re gone a lot, working so hard, and what about all the extra things that must get done in one day? You’re not too happy when you come home, and you definitely do not have time for me.
  • You don’t invite friends over to enjoy me anymore. I used to get so many compliments. Now, hmmm…very little.
  • My style and décor seems outdated, plus I am a little bit frazzled due to the disorganization.
  • You have so many things tucked into my space. I recognize there’s no room for people to really walk or move around. It seems very cluttered; sometime claustrophobic.
  • What did I do to make you not like me anymore?
  • Would it be fair to tell you how much I’d appreciate looking more stylish?
  • I would love to try a new color on my exterior and/or interior walls, maybe even a better looking floor and possibly some new furniture and accessories. I heard you talking about a more modern kitchen and/or bath that would show me off. Sometimes, I get annoyed when you are in the bath with the old lighting, not so great looking shower, and by the way, please keep your clothes on. You’re not as young as you used to be, you know. I know, I know I probably will get nothing now for that remark. Anyway, I am seeking rooms that are bright, cherry and inviting.

I would really stand out and be noticed if my walls could have beautiful colors and décor on them. I can imagine people saying how beautiful I am. I would feel so good, not to mention how happy it would be to see you smile. Then, you’d pay me lots of attention.

This is just a few of my thoughts. I could go on and on. Now, I understand you are very busy. Believe me, I hear all the conversations. There are the many hours at work, running the children to their various school activities, evening meetings, weekend activities with  family/friends. There are rare moments when you have a little time to pay me some attention and then it’s pretty sad for me to hear the things you say.

I am asking you to please FIX ME. You have talked about hiring an interior decorator to spruce me up and make me feel like singing (if I could). I’ve heard talk about a company that focuses on homes like me who feel so neglected. They call themselves Accentuate Home Styling and Consulting. They can make me clean, stand out and be noticed, and yes, they will work diligently and help you set up time and a budget. You probably feel like you cannot afford them. They will help you figure all that out.

Oh, I can’t wait! I’m getting carried away just thinking how different I would look and feel. I would say words like uplifting, sophisticated, glamorous and organized. Wow, just the sound of such words would show the sun beaming in on me more brightly, the brilliance of the new paint, my new flooring and not to mention the cool look of the room with the ‘just right’ furniture and décor.  Thank you, my lady for taking the time to read what I am feeling. I know everything will be fine now, and what I have to say from that point on will be something that not just you should hear, but it shall be a look that I will display for all to see. I can expect lots of people to come and see me. It’ll be like old times. I will be so well dressed. If only I could talk, things could be different. I can only hope that once you’ve read this, you will at least ask. My Lady of the house, help me feel better, and I know you be happy for me too. Thank you. I love you My Lady of the house and look forward to seeing everyone who lives within my walls come home each night.

Now, you know what I would say to you, if I could really talk. All I can hope for is you will see how sad I am with my bland walls, stuff all over my rooms and nothing inviting for you to truly enjoy when you arrive home. Help me feel better, so you can feel better. Thank you, and I love you.

Note: This is how creative the mind is. When you think beyond just a wall, a floor, a room, there is so much more to discover. Today, your home is wishing for something new and different. It’s all about creativity. Hope to hear from you soon.  Accentuate Home Styling and Consulting – 469-261-0675. Our website is: http://www.accentuatehomestyling.com.
